That was a fantastic trip!

After 5 and a half weeks of an amazing tour I'm now home. Rereading my blog and looking at where I had travelled, the places I have seen and enjoyed. It was certainly a big trip.
There were so many highlights, like seeing the whales along the Great Australian Bight to climbing massive trees in Pemerberton. I was spoilt with some great camping spots in some wonderful locations along the way. There certainly were a couple of favourites, like having my own cabin (with log fire) in Shannon to sharing my campsite at Lucky Bay with kangaroos hoping along the beach.
Overall I had great weather for the trip. I was very happy with the time of year I decided to do the trip. As in the summer I don't think I would have enjoyed cycling across the Nullarbor in the heat.
The bike, TJ, performed superbly. Not one mechanical problem and no punctures. The only problem I did have, which was not directly related to the bike, was that my click-stand broke going across the Nullarbor. Think this was due to all the extra weight I was carrying. Will need to rethink a better option for the next tour.
I felt that I was very prepared for the trip. Before I began the tour I increased the number of kms I was riding each week. During the tour I slowly increased the kms being rode each day and the weight I was carrying. This was to get me ready for the big days I knew I'd be doing going from Norseman to Ceduna. Physically I felt great at the end of the tour.
It is great being home and seeing lovely wifey and my wonderful nephews. All I know missed me a lot, as I did them. Thanks again for letting me enjoy such an amazing trip with you all.
Still thinking of where my next tour will be. I really enjoyed being in some remote parts of Australia. Plus I enjoyed riding on the dirt towards the end of the tour. So I am trying to find some great dirt roads which go through some areas I have not yet been to.

One of my favourite sunsets from the Nullarbor. It was the day when it was stinking hot and I had no shade. |
