This morning I awoke to a lovely blue sky. So riding to Albany was nice. I followed the Lower Denmark Road, as this is a little quieter than the main road. Before I got to Albany I headed towards Torndirrup National Park.

Torndirrup NP is along the coast, about 15kms south of Albany. I took the turnoff for the Gap. When I arrived the views along the coast were breathtaking. Seeing the waves continually pound upon the coast was great. Having a picture perfect day an added bonus.

Another great piece of coastline
As I got to the views at about lunchtime I decided this would be a perfect place to stop and have something to eat. Whilst I was getting my food prepared a couple of people who had seen me during the week, from the comfort of their campervans, came over to say hi.

After lunch I headed back towards Albany, following a bike path along some of the shoreline. Enjoying even more views along the way. I checked into the YHA and am staying a couple of nights. So that will mean tomorrow is my first rest day. I'm looking forward to it.

Albany is the main town in the region, still quite small though. Which means most things I'll be able to walk to tomorrow. It is a very picturesque town, being located between a small set of hills and a bay.

This evening I went down to the waterfront to enjoy sunset. It was such a pleasant end to a great day.

The first week of this tour has gone really well overall. The weather has mostly been fine and I'm feeling pretty good. The nights it had rained I've been able to stay in nice hostels. Next week I'll be heading across to Esperance. Weather looks a little drier, so should be back in the tent.
