I was packed and on the road at about 7.30am. My first destination for the day is Swansea, which is about 50kms away. The ride went over a series of rolling hills, which is the norm for TAS. As usual the traffic was light and well behaved.
About 10kms before Swansea there is an old convict bridge called Spiky Bridge. No one knows why it has spikes along it's sides. After I got my photos I continued to Swansea, where I stopped for a coffee and 2nd breakfast.

I was originally going to arrange a dingy to take me across the bay. I called the person yesterday and he told me he no longer does the trip. So this meant I will have to ride around the bay instead. Adds about an extra 40kms to my ride. At least it is a nice day and the scenery should make the kms fly by.

In the distance is my destination for the day |
I had one small hill to get over. Once I got over the hill I had a headwind until the turn-off for Freycinet National Park. Once I turned towards the national park I got a nice tailwind for the last 30kms. I got to the park at about 3pm. I am staying just behind the national park office, as they have campsites for $5 per night. This includes cold showers, cooking area and best of all, 30 seconds to the beach with a great view.

20 second walk from my campsite |
I'm planning on staying 2 nights and will hopefully climb Mt.Amos tomorrow. As the views are meant to be great. Today's ride was again just great. Perfect weather, great scenery and a yummy chocolate muffin. Looking forward to my walk tomorrow.
