Day 21: Lake Meadowbank to Mount Field National Park

It was very windy last night. Also there was smoke from a bushfire somewhere around the region. This morning was woken by the cars going by at around 7am. At least there was no traffic during the night.
The first 12kms of riding were through rolling hills surrounded by farms. Our first stop is the small village of Ellendale. Where I stopped for a coffee and cake. A long time since the last coffee and cake.
After the coffee stop we rode on to Mount Field National Park. We arrived at about 11.30am. Kayla's sister met us there. For the afternoon we went for a walk around the park. The park contains a number of waterfalls and a large number of big eucalyptus trees.
After the walk we had a drive up to Lake Dobson in the lovely pink hire car. The road to the lake goes up a long dirt road. The scenery around the lake was very different from the first walk we did earlier in the day.
When we finished walking around the lake, we headed back down the road and the girls dropped me off at my campsite. They were heading into Hobart for the weekend. It was cool to have a fun riding partner for the last few days.
So tonight is my last night of camping. The campsite at the park seems pretty good. I'm camped next to a stream and have my own picnic table to prepare dinner. Tomorrow is my ride into Hobart. Really looking forward to being in town and hopefully enjoying a relaxing afternoon somewhere.
