Day 11 - Stirling NP to Fitzgerald River
|
Awoke to a nice sunrise from my tent. It was so nice to be camping again. This morning looks like a nice sunny day. After I was fed and packed I was riding just after 8am.
For the first 30kms I had an annoying crosswind. But then I turned east and that crosswind became a very nice tailwind. Thanks to the wind I was making really good time and stopped at Jerramungup for lunch at about 1pm. Jerramungup is a small town with a shop and some picnic tables. So I ate at one of the picnic tables. Whilst making sure my things didn't blow away.
Once fed I continued with the help of the nice tailwind towards Fitzgerald River. The wind kept blowing and I was there at about 3pm. There is a rest area here, which is where I'm camping. Thankfully there are some trees to give me a bit of a windbreak.
Today's ride passed mostly pastoral land where they are either growing crops or breeding sheep. The area where I'm camping is part of a national park which goes down to the coast. Tomorrow I'm be riding through Ravensthorpe and if I still get a favorable wind stopping about 100km short of Esperance.
