Day 1: Melbourne to Warburton

Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail |
Got up at 3.30am today, as my flight left at 6.15am. The whole trip to Melbourne went really smoothly. Took about an hour to put the bike together. Only problem, when I left the airport it started to rain all the way to the CBD.
Jumped on the train to Lilydale where I would begin my trip via the Rail Trail to Warburton. The trail goes for just under 40kms. Besides the occasional stops to cross roads it is very pleasant. Along the way I stopped for a coffee and cake at The Cog Cafe. Very yummy muffin. As I was riding into Warburton there was a field with alpacas in it. Wasn't expecting that!
I am camping at the Warburton Caravan Park which is right next to the river. Very tranquil and just a 5 minute walk into town. Relaxing next to the river and the sun is starting to come out (it is now 6.30pm). The weather forecast says it should be sunny tomorrow. I hope they're right, as will be riding up to Marysville.
